Pretty stupid really. He claims she contributes nothing to the gaming industry aside from being a glorified booth babe. In my view, gaming journalists very rarely add anything to the industry. They relay stories and put out a few reviews. They aren’t creating games, just talking about them. And what did talking ever do?
That being said, I think he was only fired because Day is a media sweetheart and Dtoid didn’t want any hassle keeping him on staff.
To clarify I’m not saying Felicia Day adds anything greatly important to the gaming industry either. The gaming-related and geek culture side of things, yeah sure, with stuff like The Guild, great sure why not, but until Day & Perez both get involved in the creative process behind video games, they’re just as useless as each other.
